Connecting Tourists to India!

Foreign tourists now visiting India on an e-Visa need not run helter skelter at the airport searching for the right mobile operator to help them stay connected with their loved ones back home.

BSNL has launched a pre-loaded SIM card Kit for such tourists on an e-Visa visiting the country. The service was launched by Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Minister for State (Independent Charge) Tourism & Culture with Secretaries from Tourism as well as Department of Telecommunications present for the same.

This service is initially made available by BSNL at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. In the coming months BSNL will offer these SIM cards at all 15 International Airports in India where e-Visa facility is available.
A simple procedure for procuring these SIM cards has been put in place by Ministry of Tourism and BSNL. The PSU Telecom Operator will collect e-Visa copy and the first page of passport from foreign tourists on arrival at the airport. BSNL SIM cards will be pre-loaded with a value of Rs. 50 talk time and 50 MB data and will be activated instantaneously so foreign guests can use the facility immediately.

With a Bang Indeed!

We are starting the New Year with a bang! Read BSNL’s advert posted on its social media and it was indeed true in all aspects.

The telecom PSU had launched its Unlimited Voice call plan for local and STD calls on any network for just Rs.149/-

New customers could avail of this attractive voucher that provided the unlimited calls for the first 30 days. Customers were also given the option of extending this free call voucher for 3 months by paying a total amount of Rs.439/- The plan was launched across the country through all BSNL channel partners and retailers. The PSU had limited calls to other networks to 30mins or half an hour per day as a Fair Usage Policy.

BSNL has been changing the dynamics in an aggressively competitive telecom market. The PSU has met toe to toe in their fight against competition and has also set some industry precedents through tariff plans for mobile and landline customers alike. BSNL has certainly become a strong contender amongst other telecom giants dominating the market.
